At 12:23 on Monday morning, I was sitting here with my head in my hands. How could I have been so st upid? The clock was at the bottom of the screen. Scott had told me half an hour ago I had 10 minutes, and yet I completely misunderstood what he meant, thinking he was bossing me into bed. I had missed the deadline.
Yet still, God is sovereign. After a cry, a quick email, and a fitful sleep, the deadline is met, and it is in God’s timing, not mine, when I have sleeping and happily drawing children, caffeine in my system and the washing hung out.
I prefer God’s timing, although I could have done without the anguish 11 hours beforehand. But yet again, that was the old me shining through. Thinking and stressing about tomorrow, and the future, living way too far in the future, not trusting and being present.
Yesterday was a massive day though, so I need to give myself a bit of leeway. B’s baptism, and a Christmas Day trial run with 20 people for lunch at our house, broken bbqs and a scorching hot day. It was a great day.
I haven’t done a rundown in ages, so here goes:
Reading: Some cool stuff about Theodore Beza, we named B’s security bear Beza after said Reformation great. Also reading about the state Labor Party’s decrescendo toward a single whimper from KK.
Watching: Patrick Swayze in MASH (although by the 10th season the laughs have dropped off). Trailers for KINECT games -as Lola says, “I can’t wait, I can’t wait”!!!
Eating: Lamb Koftas from Bush’s Meats in Castle Towers. Yum. Panzanella Salad with Fried Holoumi, Pavlova, Basil and cashew dip and Mersey Valley Cheese
Thinking: I have just drunk my first coffee in about 3 weeks. Not sure when it will wear off. Considering the 4 hours sleep I’ve had, hopefully later rather than sooner.
Really truly what is going on in Burma. Will we ever know.
God is very good to me, despite how I treat him.
Praise Ceiling Cat for Playdough on rainy days.
